Generate Uniformly Distributed Data in Excel

Your goal

You need to randomly generate uniformly distributed data in Excel.

Step-by-step tutorial

We will use Excel's RAND function to do this. Because RAND generates real numbers in the range [0, 1], we need to handle the lower and upper bounds ourselves.

Step 1: Place your random number formula in the target cells

In this example, we'll use 100 as the lower bound and 150 as the upper bound. The corresponding formula is =100+50*RAND():
